DIALLO MITCH UP IN THIS B★TCH!

TALENT Dialló Mítch ★ PHOTOGRAPHER James Kelly III ★ WARDROBE STYLIST + CREATIVE DIRECTION Dialló Mítch ★ GLAM Aime Ramirez ★ HAIR The Baddie Spot ★ INTERVIEW Fatima Turay

This LA model and stylist is one to watch. Diallo Mitch has been doing this for years now and she has in that runner’s high, character arc kinda era. A Pisces Princess, with a futuristic and uber fabulous air yet timeless and original: Diallo has earned all her flowers thus far. 10’s all across the board for individuality, this artist is hands-on with everything, from creative direction to styling, as she often styles herself and has some very cute publications under her cunty belt. As we poke inside this triple threat’s head, let’s remember Diallo Mitch as one of them ones already — defying the odds, making it look easy, but living the human experience nonetheless, beautifully.

FATIMA: Thank you so much for letting Worldwide Magazine chat with you! What is it about being a creative individual that is so rewarding to you?

DIALLÓ: Awe thank you so much for having me !! I love what you guys are doing & I’m grateful to be present with you guys! Being able to have the mindset to create is the most rewarding factor for me! I’m blessed!

Aside from modeling, the styling that you feature on your other Instagram (@hctimollaid) carries my dear: in the future, which career could you see yourself leaning more into?

OMG, thank you so much for acknowledging my growing styling account she’s my babe! For me, I love styling & modeling just about the same. I’m a creative so I love to use all my talents especially if I am passionate about them. I started styling in 2014 before I even started modeling, but they both serve such a great purpose in my artistry! I have been leaning towards modeling as of recently, but I have so much more to come & show with my styling journey.

When was the pinnacle moment in your life when you decided you wanted to lead a creative lifestyle?

To be truly honest it started in my childhood. Playing dress up with my siblings, making outfits for my Bratz dolls & reenacting America Next Top Model. I would print off images that I took of my siblings & create them a portfolio. That alone was so fulfilling to me at a young age & I knew I wanted to do it when I was of age. I was determined & I did just that.

Is there one person, whether public or familial, that you want to one day emulate and are ultimately inspired by?: who is that for you and why?

My mother! She’s my ultimate inspiration! She’s Strong! She’s Resilient! She’s Passionate! She’s Caring! She’s Intelligent & so much more! I’m so fortunate enough to have a figure like herself in my life to look up to! It’s such a blessing!

I have also turned 30, so a happy belated birthday is owed to you <3 How has your mindset changed upon entering into this latest decade of your life?

Thank you!!! Happy belated birthday to you as well. Oh wow, turning 30 for me was very emotional & eye-opening. Leading up to me entering this new decade I was fighting so many silent battles that I couldn’t even begin to think of how important reaching this milestone was. Now that I’m here I feel very grateful & thankful. I’m just so blessed to be able to breathe & live another day because this life isn’t promised to any one of us. Especially BLACK TRANSGENDER WOMEN!!!

Define your style in the most unique way you can! (Ex. If Madonna and Rihanna had a threesome with Dennis Rodman and both ladies got pregnant and delivered just me)

OKAY! So, if Grace Jones met Lil Kim in the late 90s on a red carpet and then they made plans to go get lunch together to discuss their ICONIC OUTFITS! On their way there they see EVE and tell her to shut up and hop in the car! Those three women just get it! They were & still are some RISKY BITCHES!

What is a specific piece of advice that you can share with our readers; those that may not know exactly how to execute their dreams or share similar adversities that you may have overcome?

I would have to start by telling them to simply BELIEVE in yourself FIRST! Do not wait for someone to see the talent within you because you’ll be waiting FOREVER! The journey isn’t going to be rainbows & unicorns, but it will be all worth it!

What are some good ways to prioritize a romantic relationship while also being an individual that pours into oneself, especially being an artist?

Honestly just by showing up for them, but always showing up for yourself as well! Of course, there will always be challenges, but make the shit work because you’ll find the balance!
Your short film “Oh my GOD I hate you, BUT I love you!” was an amazing attempt to showcase the same pros and cons of love that all groups go through but focusing it on a black gay male couple has not been done too often: what made you want to see this project out?

Thank you!! I love that film so much and I get emotional whenever I get the opportunity to talk about it! I created that film in early 2020! I was going through so much loss at that time and I wanted to put all of my emotions into something creatively fulfilling! So, I had this grand idea of creating a film! I didn’t know how I was going to get it done, but I knew I had to do it! Around the time this film came out it was way before my transition I was just this Femme Cunt Faggot! I wanted to showcase how there are all types of black gay love out there and not just the masc-on-masc representation! All shade!!! I knew that my point of view of queer love would inspire all the BLACK FEMME GAYS out there especially the ones that are keeping up with me! I truly felt like it was & still is my duty to create something so powerful and inspirational!!! Before I put out “OH MY GOD I HATE YOU, BUT I LOVE YOU” I have never seen anything like it before!!! After it came out I saw a lot of copycats!!!! You’re welcome I did my job!! Shout out to my co-star Davontí, photographer Eyenzsi & videographer Chris Noltekuhlmann!! It wouldn’t have been possible without them!!!
Is there ever a time that you wish to take an easier route of life to secure stability? Basically, can the artist/creative lifestyle ever tire you?

GIIIIIRRRRRRLLLLL ALL THE TIME! LOL! NO REGRETS THOUGH! Being in this line of work shows you how strong you are!!! I am such a resilient bitch!!!!!

Name some of your style inspirations, what about them do you appreciate?

Hmmmmm. I don’t have many style inspirations, to be honest. Whenever I get dressed it’s such a feeling for me! I don’t look at anyone when I am preparing my looks! However, when it comes to just admiring someone style it would have to be Lil Kim, BUT late 90’s early 2000’s Kim! She wasn’t afraid to make a statement with her outfits!!!! She reminds me of myself at times!!!

Social media has proven to be a blessing and a curse, but ultimately a tool and resource nonetheless: how do you stay away from burnout or overusing the apps?

TAKE BREAKS!! GO TOUCH SOME DAMN GRASS! LITERALLY THOUGH!

What does representation look like to you?

WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!!

With nostalgia and retro-cycling becoming trendy, is there a thin line between being inspired and ‘copying’?

I’M SUCH AN ORIGINAL BITCH!! I ALWAYS DO ME!

Is there a goal that you have yet to accomplish: if so, what is it?

Yes - Management! I’m Ready! Been Ready!

Since starting your career, have you had any full-circle moments?

I have had numerous full circle moments within my career that have gagggggeeddd me!!! The one that sticks out to me the most right now is when my brother & I got our first international 2-page spread interview in oyster magazine! Physical copy!!!! That moment is so dear to my heart because we were able to tell our stories!!!

What is it about modeling that is so rewarding to you?

For me, it’s truly the feeling that comes over me when I’m modeling! I leave it all on set! Giving the photographer exactly what I felt through the imagery that they captured of me. It’s just such a rush! If you know you know.
